OPPORTUNITY

Oxford is known for the quality of its science and innovation. For the last 40 years Oxford Technology Management has handpicked promising breakthroughs ready to be commercialised. Since 1983 they have made over 150 investments in technology start–ups.

The investment team has launched the Oxford Technology Growth Fund to attract new investors. The fund will focus on developing ten of the fastest–growing science and technology businesses in their portfolio.

Oxford Technology brought in Sparks to design a brand identity for the fund that showcased the potential for growth.

The logo picks out the right angle of the G’s cross stroke, and then echoes the shape to suggest an arrow – a direction of travel and a signpost to growth.

Using Oxford Technologies existing colour palette, various patterns were developed from the arrow, creating distinctive backgrounds and visual interest. These appear alongside classic photography that grounds the fund in the city of Oxford, balancing a sense of place and of possibility.
